Buy Your Skin A Drink at Oasis Face Bar

Monthly routine facials are now a thing, and Molly Bower, creator of Oasis Face Bar, has made it convenient, fun AND affordable. She’s revolutionized the skin care climate in Cincinnati by giving us 30 minute express facials that can be done solo, or with a group in their open concept facial bar (kind of like getting your nails done with your girlfriends).
The Background
Oasis Face Bar is an off branch of Skin Oasis, a clinical skin care facility up in the Columbus neighborhood of Westerville. About a year ago, Oasis Face Bar opened in downtown Columbus, then a few months ago in our very own OTR neighborhood. Molly created Oasis Face Bar to cater to women in their 20s and 30s who are starting to care more and more about their skin, but don’t necessarily need or want clinical treatments.
My Experience
Oasis Face Bar offers 30 minute targeted facial treatments for just $49 each. I got the “smooth” which included dermaplaning, and did an add on of the LED mask therapy. Each of their add ons are $10.
What is dermaplaning? It’s an exfoliation technique developed in Asia where you use a surgical grade scalpel to scrape the top layer of skin and fine hairs from the face and decolletage. It’s great for those experiencing dull, dry skin as the top layer often is a collection of dead skin cells, pollution build up and unwanted hairs. I like to get it done before a big event, in the spring to get rid of dry skin that has built up during the winter months, and in the fall to remove dead skin from sun exposure. The best part of dermaplaning? How effective your skincare products take to your skin (and how much less you need to use!)
The LED Mask was new to me, and I was so excited to try it (more so for the pics, let’s be real). They offer red and blue light therapy masks. Red light therapy claims to activate collagen production to reduce signs of aging, and can also help reduce age spots, reverse sun damage, eliminate redness and promote healing. The Blue light therapy is used to help improve skin clarity by killing acne-causing bacteria and prevent future breakouts.
